From Desk of Principal

     I am extremely delighted to write this message that Golaghat Jatia Mahavidyalaya has been occupying a frontline position among the secondary educational institutions of Assam. Exisitence of this college (now senior secondary with classes from ix to xii - Arts, Science and Commerce) came into being in the year 2011, resulted from the farsighted vision of Mr. Biswajit Phukan who has been leading and guiding the college as the Managing Director since the year of inception. Throughout it's short span history of nearly ten years the college has produced a good number of brilliant students. Out of these, four students occupied state level positions in H.S. final examinations conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council. The college has been working hard to produce more human wealth by means of imparting quality education. This college strongly believes that institutional education is one of the best weapons to lift the world from a lower level to a higher one with all round development accompanied by love, peace, stability justice and equality.

     This college has been teaching the students and firmly believes that "education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today" (Malcolm). The management, teachers of this college highly appreciates that "education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world" (Nelson Mandela). In order to transform the world through knowledge this college has been emphasasing on the skill development, the only means to survive in this competitive world. This college puts equal importance, alongwith other aspects of the learners, on the development of moral values. As C.S. Lewis reminds us "education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man into a clever devil." While giving instructions to the learners Golaghat Jatia Mahavidyalaya gives priority on idea that "education is not the learning of facts but the training of the mind to think." (Albert Ainstein).

     Golaghat Jatia Mahavidyalaya strategically points out and teaches the students to follow the strict disciplines while leading a student life. I personally believe that punctuality, sincerity and discipline followed by all the teachers and students would lead this college to achieve it's targeted goal. In getting this helping hands and all round cooperation from all is heartly expected. Golaghat Jatia Mahavidyalaya Long Live.
